Welcome to Rekindling The Spirit

Rekindling The Spirit is a community organisation

run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal families in Australia. 

We are based in Lismore within the Bundjalung Nation area of Northern New South Wales. We would like to acknowledge the Widjabul People past and present upon whose land we work.

We support Indigenous men and women to find their own path of empowerment through spiritual, emotional, sexual and physical healing.

You can come to us through a formal referral or just bring yourself to our door. You could also join us at group sessions in communities that we run in community places at Tabulam and Lismore. All you need to do is sign up and come along.

Our services are a series of journeys. It's a family-based approach that mixes traditional healing with contemporary group and counselling practice. We provide confidential link-ups to specialist services when we don't have all the things you need.

We work with community and government organisations in our areas to create a better life together. Our approach is a journey for men working with each other, for women working with each other. It's not just bushcraft and baskets either - there's hard work to be done on a personal level. You can make a connection that can last for years, not just a 3-month set time-frame. Good spirit needs encouragement, new skills, awareness and confidence.

We are also active in communities to provide support to reduce family violence, other crimes and associated community breakdown. This work isn't done in isolation. We don't pick on one brother, we don't focus on one sister.  We drive our bus and cars  in Lismore, Goonellabah, Alstonville, Wollongbar, Coraki, Box Ridge, Cabbage Tree Island, Gundarimba, Tabulam & Jubullum, Kyogle and Casino, right out to the coast at Ballina, Byron south to Evans Head.
